Hugh Morgan dismisses Nigeria whispers
(Jul 25, 2017)
Any doubts about Hugh Morgan’s intriguing nickel venture in Nigeria are complete “rubbish”, according to the former Western Mining Corporation supremo.
Whispers out of Nigeria this week said Morgan’s Comet Minerals was having trouble finding the source of the unique native nickel balls at the Titan prospect.
But Morgan said that the venture “was on track”, though he refused to go into details.
He said an IPO remained under consideration and that there had been some interest in the venture from major miners.
However, any listing would not be on the ASX, because investors in Australia “don’t know where Nigeria is”.
Morgan indicated further details could be forthcoming in September at the Africa Downunder conference in Perth.
That will mark the anniversary of Comet and the Titan native nickel find first coming into public domain.
Morgan and Comet gave a public presentation at the conference as well as giving one or two well attended briefings to audiences of funds, analysts, consultants and other corporates.
Comet’s team has included Stephen Davis and Steven Pragnell.
